Fellow of the International Guild of Artists Member of the British Watercolour Society

Welcome to my site :-If you would like any information on any of the above, please contact me I would be very happy to hear from you.

I started painting at school I had my first exhibition when I was 15. There was a little gap after that as I worked and brought up my family. I took up painting again in 1995 after an illness and changed to Watercolour about a year later. At first I went to local tutors to improve my skills, and tried local art club exhibitions where to my surprise I was able to sell a few paintings. After a while I moved to national exhibitions and in 2003 I had my work selected for the Patching Art festival where it was highly commended. I was invited to become a Member of the British Watercolour Society in 2004 and at the summer exhibition 2005 I was elected to Fellow of the International Guild of Artists. This I regard as a great achievement as you are elected by your fellow artists on the quality of your paintings. My work is displayed in several UK Galleries and I also attend the IGA exhibitions in the winter gardens at Ilkley North Yorkshire where I have been a past prize winner on several occasion

I can now often be found painting along the North East Coast or in the Moors of Northumberland, Co Durham and North Yorkshire. The landscape of these wild areas offers a huge variety for the watercolour artist from the ever changing colours through out the seasons to the rugged coastline. I feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful and wild area of England you can not help being humbled by the sun rising behind Lindisfarne castle on Holy Island or setting over Durham Cathedral.  I hope i’ve put some of that feeling into my work

There is nothing to beat owning an original work of art; a Print will always be a print, a piece of paper run through a machine. An original painting is the product of an individual Artist who has spent hours in concentration trying to achieve the feeling, the atmosphere and the distance in their presentation. It can never be repeated, and I hope everyone enjoys my paintings on display Why not turn that much loved photograph into a Original Watercolour Painting for more information contact me at
